Gavin Biggs

Gavin Biggs

Gavin Biggs was born in Cambridge, England and spent most of his childhood reading fantasy, science fiction and adventure stories. After graduating with a degree in Psychology, Gavin went to teach English in Inner Mongolia, China. Despite the hot summer and very, very cold winter, he found a passion for languages, teaching and travel.

Over the next 25 years Gavin continued working in education with publishers such as Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press and Harper Collins.

He was lucky enough to travel all over the world training teachers and helping them design exciting lessons. He is a firm believer in the power of reading to help students learn through enjoyment and is on a mission to make sure every school has access to excellent story books! Gavin has written over 50 classroom readers for students as well as a number of textbook series for primary and secondary schools. His stories have won the international Extensive Reading Foundation (Language Learner Literature) Award four times.

When Gavin is not writing stories, he enjoys discovering new music, anime and computer games. In fact, most of his free time is spent playing games online or with friends!

Gavin now lives in England with his family, dog and two cats and works as a freelance writer and editorial manager.
