Doomsday High is the nickname for the strict boarding school that houses teens being trained for when The Flare – a solar flare – hits Earth, causing chaos. The students are split between Ultras who are training to be elite fighters, Animates who can control animals, and Telepaths who can read minds. The rules are harsh; they train from early morning to late at night. Any weakness is punished. Trik is top of his year in the Ultras. Feral is bottom of her year in the Animates. They are sworn enemies. When Trik and Feral are paired against each other in the brutal end of year exams, they not only have to battle each other, but also have to work together to find out why someone is trying to kill them both.
