On Halloween, Ben, his best friend Megan and his brother Chris are staying at home while Mum goes on a date with her new boyfriend, Jonathan DeVries. Ben is not at all keen on DeVries – he smells really weird for starters. And when the babysitter cancels, Ben really doesn’t fancy spending the night with him at home. The kids assure Ben’s mum they will be fine on their own, and DeVries has arranged some surprises to keep them entertained. Who doesn’t like surprises? Then those surprises start to arrive...
